Redirect-trouble
I have put up a UT2004 server at 109.70.148.94:2000 just for fun,All works fine except the redirect ,I compressed the files and put them up on my web-host at
http://unreal-mayhem.com/ut2004redirect/ All files still download to 100% in a slow paste , As if they would come from the server ?? Even tho I set the"AllowDownloads=False"
Thees are the settings I use and I tested with different files and different users and its no difference.
[IpDrv.HTTPDownload]
RedirectToURL=http://unreal-mayhem.com/ut2004redirect/
UseCompression=True
[IpDrv.TcpNetDriver]
AllowDownloads=False

Re: Redirect-trouble
I am pretty darn sure that "AllowDownloads=False" should be...
AllowDownloads=True
That is the way my servers are all set.
Also, what about under this...
[IpDrv.HTTPDownload]
RedirectToURL=http://unreal-mayhem.com/ut2004redirect/
UseCompression=True
I have 2 other entries... (exactly as follows)
ProxyServerHost=
ProxyServerPort=3128
EDIT: But then, mine is from UT99 - not UT2k4 - sorry!

Re: Redirect-trouble
Poor Herm ,He never got home from work LOL.
The 2 proxy-lines i removed since there was no need for them,The true/False thingy was just a test to be absolute sure i did NOT load from the server,witch it seams to do anyway.
Do I need to ask the host to open some port to get this to work ?? Weird since I can download files easy from the site.And I run all 7 UT99 servers from the same place and it work perfect.

Re: Redirect-trouble
Here is what I have:
[IpDrv.HTTPDownload]
RedirectToURL=http://Hermskii.com/HOHCUT2K4/
ProxyServerHost=
ProxyServerPort=3128
UseCompression=True
[IpDrv.TcpNetDriver]
AllowDownloads=False
ConnectionTimeout=20.0
InitialConnectTimeout=200.0
AckTimeout=1.0
KeepAliveTime=0.2
MaxClientRate=15000
MaxInternetClientRate=10000
SimLatency=0
RelevantTimeout=5.0
SpawnPrioritySeconds=1.0
ServerTravelPause=4.0
NetServerMaxTickRate=20
LanServerMaxTickRate=35
DownloadManagers=IpDrv.HTTPDownload
DownloadManagers=Engine.ChannelDownload
AllowPlayerPortUnreach=False
LogPortUnreach=False
MaxConnPerIPPerMinute=5
LogMaxConnPerIPPerMin=False
OK, So there you go...
Now, here is what you do:
Remove all maps except one that has files that are not default to UT2004.
Delete the cache folder and all temp files from you player installation. Connect to the server a see what is the first file that downloads slowly. Lever your setup like that and tell me the name of the file it sent slowly. Give me a link to the server too so I can test it.

Re: Redirect-trouble
I did what you said and have the exact settings like you now ,The address is on top on my first post,It still loads to 100%
I think you missed my point this happens for ALL files from the redirect,so Its not 1 broken one.

Re: Redirect-trouble
Right but as soon as one doesn't work...all of the rest won't work even if they are right. redirects are odd like this. I'll read our discussions and my suggestions on my work PC and hope to give you more to get set up tonight. You'll find redirects are sort of the only specialty I have in UT. If you do as I ask, you will get this figured out! More tonight. I have to go to work now.

Re: Redirect-trouble
Hitman, I do not think there is anybody out there that knows redirects, and how to trouble-shoot and fix them, more than Hermskii.Hermskii wrote:Right but as soon as one doesn't work...all of the rest won't work even if they are right. redirects are odd like this. He has done this for many years and for many UT admins.
If it CAN be fixed, Hermskii is the one who can tell you how to do it!

Re: Redirect-trouble
I have an idea....
Have Herm send you a compressed map that he knows is 100% ok. See if it comes off your redirect to the game client. I'm thinking maybe something is messing up your compressed files or they got messed up from the get go if you batch compressed everything recently.
...another thing to try.....
See if you can temporarily use someone elses redirect. If it works..you know your server is fine and you can focus on resolving the issue with your redirect....if not, then something is awol with the server.
Lastly....if no one wants to have your server use their redirect I can set you up with a test one. My redirect works fine with my servers.

Re: Redirect-trouble
The single-custom-map I have on there right now still acts the same way if I add UT-files public address " http://uz2.ut-files.com/" so it cant be something wrong with my redirect and the UT99 folder works perfect,So it most be a server-side issue...
Can someone of you try and enter it ?

Re: Redirect-trouble
If your asking if I can click that kink and see all of your files, the answer is yes. Do you have an IP to the server so I can connect to it and see the files it tries to send to me?
