2 things in Cananda today shocked me...

One was this:

You should have to be pure female to compete in a Miss anything contest IMHO.

Two was that I read they have legalized pimping hookers and suck in Ontario I think it was. I don't think less of Canada but this trips me out a little I will admit.

I really need to go to Canada someday and check it out. I picture big leaf trees all over the place with autumn colors and hills and rivers and black asphalt roads. Snow on lots of stuff too. Funny accents, log cabins, smoked food food, good fishing, clean air. How'd I do?

I saw a program about transsexualism on PBS a few months ago. Genuine transsexuals really do feel trapped in a body of the wrong sex. It has something to do with the hypothalamus in the brain. There are a lot more individuals suffering from this problem than I ever would have imagined. It's a very complex problem with no easy solutions according to what I saw on that program about it.

If the person in the news has had all of the surgery, then I see her commitment to her chosen sex as proof enough of her eligibility. Her heart is certainly in the right place or she never would have gone all the way with the whole long and complex process.

_____

They HAVE NOT legalized pimping in Ontario. Prostitution was never illegal. What was illegal was "communicating for the purposes", living off of "the avails of prostitution", and "keeping a common bawdy house".

It will no longer be illegal to live off of the income, or run a house of prostitution. Oddly, it will still be illegal to solicit. Perhaps that is to keep sex ads out of the media. By allowing prostitutes to work in their residences, it is hoped that those who choose to go into the sex trade will be able to better avoid being forced to work for pimps, and will be safer from the crazies who prey on prostitutes. Pimping will still be illegal. They're trying to clamp down harder on the sex slave industry, so pimps will never be legal.

This was a court decision, so the Crown is expected to appeal the ruling.

A little bit story book perhaps, but the farther north you go in this province, the more true that becomes. The air is filthy down here in the south. Get up to the Muskokas or up north of Lake Superior for all of the above. :)

What's the point of having a transformed body anyway?

[As to why; -I understand that] It has something to do with the hypothalamus in the brain.

1) I'm a lil' fuzzy on whether or now I agree on transsexuals shouldn't be allowed in Miss contests. After all, it's not actually in the rules they can't and once they've gone full conversion, they're legally a Miss anyway.

2) While not my sorta thing, prostitution is the world's oldest profession. I'm all for legalizing it, more than I am for legalizing drugs.

Suffering yes but I don't know that it's that simple. It's like people trying to explain away homosexuality as it's something wrong with them. I buy into the logic that with all the wonky things that can go on in the womb that sometimes bodies are born the wrong gender.

Think on it like this. You are a woman, born and cred, but you know deep inside you're actually a man. So you get your body fixed to fit with who you are.

I'll grant you, there are some people that transform themselves not because they feel they're the wrong gender but because they're sick of their own. Pretty sure the majority of them feel they were simply born the wrong gender.

I'm not going to touch this subject again just yet. Maybe it will go away. No. I will. Here goes. Right now, it is my opinion only born female ladies should be able to compete in a miss anything contest.

I do feel that there are people who are born different than others. More on this later maybe.
