Switching to inactive

Post by Kelly » Tue Feb 26, 2013 8:39 am

I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm going to be taking a break from UT and gaming for the summer.

My health problems have consumed a large part of my energy these last 6 months and honestly I still have a ways to go. I saw my doc yesterday and he told me not to expect to be "back to normal" (his words) until around the 4th of July. I had really wanted to get off my pain meds soon but he said that it's likely not going to happen and to expect a more prolonged recovery than I'd like to have.

Anyway, it's tiring and I'm learning I have to be careful where I dedicate my energies because there just isn't a whole lot to go around. I spoke with Ferali and paper at UT99.org and explained to them I will be logging out and not returning for the foreseeable future because of this and I'm doing the same here. I'll still be around if you have my home phone but my voice is still pretty rough.

I may or may not return. I just don't know what I'm going to feel like. Right now I don't have any urge at all to play or develop, least of which is that I have zero time for it anyways. I'm back to working part-time (we need the money) and it wipes me totally out by the time the day is over. I still deal with a heavy amount of pain from the surgeries and radiation so it's just a lot on my plate.

I probably should have posted this at UT99.org too but this will do I guess. If I have any project you are interested in, like the XRay glasses or new relics pickups, get in contact with me and I'll send you the mods. I'm not going to develop them further and you are welcome to take them as your own if you want to assume development:

XRay Glasses: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh3ersaTV3s
Updated zombies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS5U-JWSfyU
Scuba Mask: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDww1KTefgc
I have bits and parts of all kinds of mods too that I never released. That last scuba was part of an entire coop server controller I made if anyone wants the source code for that too. That one has a lot of neat goodies in it that could be released separately or used in other mods. If you have interest in anything I've done just tell me via email and I'll send it to you.

Herm, I'll be logging out of my account but please don't delete it. I might make a miraculous recovery over the summer and decide I want to return to computers (unlikely lol, but you never know). It's just that for now I need to concentrate on fixing myself and getting my life back on track.

Good luck guys and enjoy yourselves.

Take it easy Kelly. Spend time with your family and regain your strength and rebuild your body. Herm and gang will still be here when you are able to be back.

No worries here Kelly. None of your accounts have ever been deleted by the way. LOL. Just tucked away neatly. This account will stay active and will be here ready for whenever you decide to pop back in.

I agree with David. You made a great argument to not do UT stuff. I had no idea that you were already back to work. Crap. I can't even imagine that. I go to work tired and come home worse. I wasn'teven sick nor am I recovering from anything. Like I said: I can't even imagine how tired you must be. Yes, keep getting rest when you can and keep getting better. Until yuo are ready I'd suggest that you do still pop in here now and then and post funny videos which happen to be my favorite things to see lately. Good gifs are great too.

Thanks for the heads up and by the way, I haven't done the facebook thing yet because I want to do it as Hermskii. They demand a first and last name to open a account and I'm unsure what to use so far. It has always been just Hermskii. I even tried Hermskii Hermskii and it wouldn't let me. They suck. More later. See. I'm dead tired right now.
~Peace~

You just take care my friend Kelly!
I cannot add anything greater or better than what David and Hermskii have said here to you, but just that I agree with them and you.
Yes, you need to just get better - just concentrate on that and your family!
Like they say, We will all be here for you now, and here on out, and when you came back to visit us again.
We wish you all the best good buddy!

Wish you all the best Kell. Expect to see you again soon... as you keep saying you're going away forever but come back in a few weeks.

This time you're saying you'll be back someday. That means sooner than soon.

Maybe.

Feel better.
