Post by Hermskii » Wed Sep 24, 2014 8:19 am

I'm backing up the servers today so they will be offline.

I am going to be adding a network device behind my current router that will cause double Nat with a static IP. I'm just saying this because I suspect this will break something as far as the servers go and I may take a week or two to get it worked out depending on how lazy I feel.

My current crappy wireless router is in the wrong place and is old. I have a new kick-but wireless router and I'm going to install it. The servers are run from a static IP that I can't recall how I set up so in the end this will suck at first until I figure out how to make this crap work. Sorry. peace!

I'm pretty sure I have all of this worked out. I have to say that it is hard to configure stuff to work within a AT&T DSL/UVERSE environment. Is everyone able to see and play OK? I saw several folks on CG the other day so I assumed all was well.

Yep, I know your servers are showing up out there, and i think people have been on them too.
I'll jump on CG to make sure in a few moments and report back ...

EDIT: Back - yes, tried CG and all seems good on your servers I think :D

The UT2k4 server is once again stuck on Deck 16 and crashes once the map has ended and you vote to play on something else. I think it crashed last night when I tried to change the map midgame too.

Of course this might have nothing at all to do with the changes. But I have noticed over the last couple of days that the lag is worse than normal.

Interesting. Let me see what I can do. That server is actually on it's own special network here and I may have trouble getting into it. I could not get into it and am in a hurry doing real life stressful stuff right now so I just rebooted it. Let me know if that fixed it please.

The reboot seems to have worked. I was not disconnected suddenly after map vote at the end of a match as was happening previously. I could choose a map and play on it.

Play during a map was pretty normal. But it would be ideal if someone else could play on the server to let you know how well it is running. I was getting some lag and also found the map change process to take a bit on the long side. -But that is not unusual for me with this wonky pc and my narrow bandwidth, so I can't say how well it's running, only that it is and that it no longer crashes and resets at the end of a map.
