It forces UT to use only one cpu instead of dividing up tasks over both cpu's . . .H꣣Fï®è wrote:What is it exacly?

Actually Klownz just did it manually and forced UT to one cpu
Task Manager . . Processes . . UT.exe right click . . set affinity . . and choose what cpu you want UT to run on . . .
Too early to tell but it might have fixed Klownz translocator problem . . . but testing results good so far . . . .
Evil is obvious only in retrospect.

It also will help fix the "My UT runs too fast/slow/stutters" problem.

Re: Dual_Core_UT_Fix
Thanks. I was wondering if my PC had 2 cores and sure enough it did. I turned one off and still had some speed issues in game so I went to my NVidia settings and told it to use the 3d application settings and then went into UT and set UseVsync=False which actually turns VSync on and all my speed issues disappeared! I doubt setting 2n'd core to off helped that but I'll test it and see. Thanks!
Damn I love this place!

Maybe that is why my server ran so fast for you?Hermskii wrote:Thanks. I was wondering if my PC had 2 cores and sure enough it did. Re: Dual_Core_UT_Fix
I did the Set Affinity thing and it's working much better!
The problem is sometimes it's hard to maximize the UT window.
Also the VSync=False made a major improvement!
Yeehaw!

Re: Dual_Core_UT_Fix
I am. I am using the AMD fix. I have an AMD Athlon 64X2 (3.21 GHz). I download the fix after I descovered that UT played freakishly, but then I read about the fix and I have not had any problems.
Here is what I downloaded from the AMD website. http://www.mediafire.com/?jhy04t1vt1y or from AMD website http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/Tec ... 18,00.html

If I buy Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology with interrelated Intel® Core™2 Duo processor P7450 I need this to PLay UT 99?

Re: Dual_Core_UT_Fix
Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the motherboard mostly. Try it and see. If your game plays fast or stutters, you do. Sometimes you don't. I have two of the same chip here on different boards and one uses it, one doesn't.

I'm trying taskassign from Tom's Hardware.
It lets you set affinity for a program before launching that program.
You can get it here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ban ... 815-3.html
