Where do the maps come from?

Post by BIOMECH » Fri Mar 06, 2009 4:20 pm

Sometimes theres some people on the server doing a map I hate but I'm in a monster hunt mood, so I downloaded MonsterHunt for myself.

It comes with 6 maps and I can play them with 5 lives and the Sniper Arena and Relics mutators, fun but I could use some extras to keep me occupied until a better map comes up on the server.
So, where can I find some extra MH maps?

EDIT:I just picked up LostInTimev2 and LongCorridor2006 from FileFront, I reckon I'll need instagib for them :twisted:

PMH has the largest single collection I know of. You can get all 6 "packs" then there are various single maps in the downloads also.

If you don't want to go there, let me know and I'll upload a 1.5GB file of all the maps in one .rar to my website.

Bringing this back up to the top, hey Herm, where did you get the mod for regenerating health and ammo?

My plan B (practice mode) needs more maps, and to survive more maps I'll need alot more power...

There are several regen programs out there. BIGI, MHEXCAL, UTJMH and so on. Which one do you want? Please send me an email to hermskii@comcast.net and I'll send you a copy of whatever you need.

Or I can just ask you here?... :)

I just want something to regenerate health and ammo at say...5 a second?...or if theres a thing for full healing you if you stand still long enough that would be nice too. :P

Basically I just need something to let me recharge between fights, health and ammo pickups aren't common enough on most maps thanks to the regen mods, and if you can't beat them, join them 8)
Oh, and of course, preferably a mod which doesn't give me 5k health... :lol:

Bio you can grab a redone UTJ HERE. There is a readme for install and this version has the spammy announcer voices greatly reduced. You can set it up any way you want via the ini, so if you have questions let me know.

Yes, get that from ScottyD. Make sure to ask him how to work it too if you don't know. I'm all of time when it comes to teaching peeps how to use mods, especially when and if they change to other mods later on as they usually do.

I have a question:

How do you get the health/ammo regen to work?
As of yet the only success has been the Monster HUD and the Health regen per kill.
I quite like the regen per kill, but I've set it to 20 and I reckon it's 20ish.

Did you ever try the StrongMonster mutator?
For anyone who hasn't, it gives all the default monsters with ranged attacks (Krall,Skaarj,Gasbag,Brute etc.) 3 or 4 types of shot :shock: :o :)

Like Brutes now have super rockets, shockrifle balls, Unreal energy blasts, and ripper discs...I reckon the Behemoths might have biorifle goo as well :!:

[UTJMH29v1.UTJMHbase]
bEnable=True Leave this to true
AmpSpawnTime=300 time between giving a random amp
DeemerSpawnTime=460 time between giving a random redeemer
HealthTime=900 you probably got this ny now
bUseRandomWeapon=1 Gives you some random thing when you spawn
bGiveArmor=1 adds random armor to the spawn awards you could get
bUseRegenAmmo=1 constant ammo resupply. 1 in on 0 is off.
bUseRegenHealth=1 constant health regen. 1 is on 0 is off.
HealthRegenPerSec=10 pretty straightforward
HealthRegenPerSecMin=5 minimum health regenerated (leave alone)
MaxRegenHealth=500 maximum your health will *REGEN* too
MaxHealth=5000 overall max health (see below)
HealthRegenPerKill=10 health award for a kill
HealthRegenPerKillMin=5 Leave alone
bUseWarnTeamDamage=1 Team killer warning (In Japanese. I didnt change this)
bUseMonsterHUD=1 The monster health radar overlay
bUseUTJTimer=1 1 means you get the random amp, deemer, health. 0 disables
DefaultHealth=200 starting health when you spawn
bUseAntiBoost=False buggy. Sometimes works sometimes not. Use mine.

Now as far as health is concerned you can regen to a set amount BUT you can go higher than that by getting health awards from kills. Like above my health would regen to 500 then stop, but if I went on a killing spree I'd get 500+ 10 more for each kill (up to 5000). This is all configurable, but you get the idea.

For reference this is what is on the server:

bEnable=True
AmpSpawnTime=999999
DeemerSpawnTime=999999
HealthTime=999999
bUseRandomWeapon=0
bGiveArmor=0
bUseRegenAmmo=1
bUseRegenHealth=1
HealthRegenPerSec=2
HealthRegenPerSecMin=2
MaxRegenHealth=250
MaxHealth=250
HealthRegenPerKill=0
HealthRegenPerKillMin=0
bUseWarnTeamDamage=1
bUseMonsterHUD=1
bUseUTJTimer=1
DefaultHealth=200
bUseAntiBoost=False

Strongmonster is a lot of fun, but you need a group of players or it gets frustrating. One or two and its too much. 'twould be nice if that kicked in depending on server load.

It goes along way to making maps more challenging I'll say that!
I'll try the settings, but not wanting to sound ungrateful or anything, I've really grown fond of regen per kill :)

Strongmonster makes all the maps ia good deal harder, but when you add regen per kill it becomes a constant struggle for survival, you can keep going forever as long as you keep dodging and killing.
Battle Of Attrition :twisted:

By the way,I just figured out my queens/warlords can shoot deemers now :shock:
As if queen bosses weren't tough enough before they started shooting 8 nuclear missles at me :!:

EDIT:OK, I was wrong about the keep going forever thing, I need the ammo regen but it doesn't seem to work :/

I think it adds a lot of fun to the game. There's a pretty good bunch of maps you have to have it with.

Is your ini set like this?:

bEnable=True
bUseRegenAmmo=1
HealthRegenPerSec=10 *Set this however you want
HealthRegenPerSecMin=5

No...it's not set like that because I don't want the health regen, grown to like health per kill...
But it was set to that once, I think and I'm not sure that worked out either, but anyway does this mean I need health regen for ammo regen?... :|

No, they should work independently of each other. If they don't, let me know and I'll see what's wrong at the code level. I'm planning on digging back into that mod to fix it up for the MHMIII server by making a server specific version. I'll fix the seperation of the health and ammo if they are indeed intertwined.
