Women and Reality

Post by David » Tue Mar 17, 2009 11:31 am

I am not really an avid book reader, OK I do not read books unless I really need to read them for work. I do read, I just do not enjoy reading books. I am a lazy American who likes to watch a good movie, play sports, video games and to try to enjoy life with the great scenery around me like the desert night skies, and the smell of gun powder in the wind.

My wife is a hard core book reader. Which is great and I hope my daughters follow her in this. My wife is a very good wife and mother. She wanted the books of Twilight and I, trying to be the loving husband, bought them for her.

Well the weirdest thing happened, at least it is weird to me (because I am a man), my wife became depressed. :? Time has passed and after several heart to heart talks, I hope we are passed it but I was curious so I "goggled" the effect of Twilight.

This is one blog that I found http://ladymisssusan.blogspot.com/2008/ ... ssion.html

Women call us crazy for doing physical stunts that might injure or maim us, but they do this crap that will screw up the heads. Do not make since to me. :?:

Just in case my wife reads this,.. Hello, I love you :D .

Wow! It's incredible how impressionable some people can get over a work of fiction!
What else is interesting is how the posters on that link realize they have a problem. Stephanie Meyer must be one hell of an author to have that effect on her readers.

I suggest you remind your wife that Vampires are cursed, evil, undead blood suckers who kill people for a living. Also, make her watch From Dusk Til Dawn and some "real Vampire" movies to bring her back down to earth.

Here's Salma's scene from the movie; music by Tito & Tarantula: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCArZQw3azg

And Count Duku as Dracula! Classic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZUlClqrTjA

Watch this Rammstein's video (a German band), there's the same snake-lady scene!

Girls get depressed because it gives unrealistic expectations of guys. So they think all of them should be like the main guy in the book. I love the twilight books but its annoying how some people get overly obsessed over it

Yes, this is just a modern fable, do you really believe the Prince Charming is alive?
BTW a girl told me that the book is better than the movie.

I think you may find it's based on yours, only they censored the parts containing redeemers and gibs to avoid upsetting people.
They failed I reckon.

I got this email from one of my brother-in-laws. I thought it was funny enough for me to share.

Finally an explanation! Guts or Balls.
There is a medical distinction. We've all heard about people having guts or balls, but do you really know the difference between them? In an effort to keep you informed, the definitions are listed below:

GUTS - Is arriving home late after a night out with the guys, being met by your wife with a broom, and having the guts to ask: 'Are you still cleaning, or are you flying somewhere?'

BALLS - Is coming home late after a night out with the guys, smelling of perfume and beer, lipstick on your collar, slapping your wife on the butt and having the balls to say: 'You're next, Chubby.'

I hope this clears up any confusion on the definitions.

Medically speaking there is no difference in the outcome.

Both result in death.
