I put ut on laptop but sound is staticey. I know you you said no to do this 3d sound option. But would it help?

No, Are you running Vista? If so, it is likely the problem. Sometimes you can restart the game and it will go away but if that doesn't help or if you get sick of doing that, you can change the sample rate in your Sound options. I think it is listed under advanced or Sampling. Take it down to 24bit or 16 bit and see what you get. I don't have Vista running now but see this thread anyways and I do have Vista on a PC but I just don't use it much.
