Cool! What did you catch this time? What did it do to your PC? There is one going around work called something like Antivirus Live. It puts a little green shield icon down in your system tray and starts calling up all sorts of false positives. Then it won't let you go anywhere on line but will take you to Porn, Adult and Viagra websites.
I found the only fix that works so let me know if you catch this awful thing. I know how to beat it!

Re: Virus!!! :@
When you are done doing that to the poor person who's IP was surely spoofed by the virus laucher you may want to install and update and run the full scan of the free version of Malwarebytes. It is the best all around cleaner I have ever used. You can find it here:
http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-A ... tag=button
Install
Update!
Run Full Scan

Re: Virus!!! :@
making scans atm, Have updated it and am now just hoping i can get rid of it for my new NFS - SHIFT game and if i cant then i am gonna start going on a killing spree of anyone being suspicious on their computer
Scans are now being run
After 1 minuite of running: 2 files have been found to be infected
2nd minuite: 4 infected files
3 min: Still 4
4 min: 4
5 min: 4
6 min: 4
7 min: 4
Check complete: 17 Infected files, Now rebooting PC
Complete, well from now i guess i just gotta use the PC and pray its removed the virus, i guess that i will just have to wait to see if i get stupid internet popups again

If you do, I have the solution. There is one going around now that even malwarebytes can't get fixed. Ping me and I'll share it with you if you need it.

Re: Virus!!! :@
Remember that MalwareBytes is not a antivirus. It is a malware remover. Once you run it, updtae your antivirus too and to the deepest scan you can with it. AVG does not come configured to heal virus' but rather just detect them. You have to set it up to auto heal in the advanced config settings. Run antivirus update, set it to heal virus' and run a full scan. When it is done, run Malwarebytes again.

I Am running NOD32 and Symantec Anti-virus Corporate Edition, so hopefully it should be alrite * I Think the virus came when my old antivirus decided it would ask for a password which i didnt have, so i had to remove it and find that the antivirus i did have wasnt installing, so i had to go download another one, i think thats how the virus got in*
Anyway it seems to be ok now thank god!

Spyware and virii are not the same thing. Most semi-sophisticated spyware can easily bypass the good antivirus apps, even shutting them down or passwording them to keep you from changing anything.
A good way to help yourself is add a password to your AV app and also your firewall app. This will keep any unwanted changes from being done without your knowledge.
I have had multiple times where AVG scanned clean, as well as Panda online, yet malwarebytes found and cleaned my infection. You gotta layer this stuff now, there is no total solution (yet another log for the Antivirus-Virus writer collusion fire that is rumored for years).

Theres a simple solution but nobody bothered trying it: Make a program that finds a virus takes the IP It got it from and trashes that IP's HDD's
End of the virus era sorted

Look up "IP SPOOFING" EA Elemental. If you are smart enough to create and deploy a virus, you are smart enough not to do it from your own computer when someone else's can do it just as well and maintain your own anonymity.

Happy Christmas, everyone!
For Christmas I got the "Antivirus Live" Virus!!!
Fortunately, after an hour, I killed it. It's a nasty one!
Although it changes all the time, you can read about it here
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-r ... virus-live
Malware, Virus, call it what you want, it's unwelcome and always damaging.
The makers of this crap are brilliant in some regards and always seem to be one step ahead of all the anti-malware/spyware/virus/crapware makers.
Oh, should this be in the Rant thread?
