Bots are annoying and useless.
If I want to play bots I play single player.
Online play is meant to play against other players, not naab bots.

Very well put and I agree.
Bots are designed as fillers (to fill a void when no real players are present)...basically for practice.

IF...a server does decide to add bots I think they should be setup to be aggressive.
I hate when I can walk up to a bot and kill it...boring.
I want that sucker to fight back.

I agree, I see way too many servers with novice bots; it's pretty annoying to play a team based game with a noob bot in your team against two real players, it's like playing alone or even worse, since it just steals precious ammo and weapons.
Maybe the goal of some server admins is to attract new players so they have to run an "easy" server...

Herein lies the dilemma!
I want to attract New players and also keep the old ones. (A Balance)
I set my bots up on {CMM} to be challenging enough to give a good fight on most maps, and they are not only Aggressive, they also know when to Run and get out of the way! (If the map is bot pathed correctly)
But also, the bots are set Not TOO challenging for most newbies.
Then - if you want, you can play with NO bots at all also!
Your Choice! - That solves the problem!
If you are alone in the server or say with only one or two other players, you can let the bots stay or choose to play without bots - either way.
If more real players come in and replace the bots, then it doesn't matter anyway and the bot issue is gone.
The way I have it set up on {CMM} it isn't even an issue.

Luckily I scanned through most of that and didn't read it. Yes, back then there were bots but they never played cause the server was full 24/7. Now it is not. The end. The bots were there to have something to do when not enough players had joined yet. That is still what they are for but MEAT made me get rid of many of them cause they were getting too much over-time. Hook was one of the best and one of the originals for sure! Like me, he has kicked back and become fat, lazy and legendary. It isn't too late for us I suspect but the beauty back then was playing with the same group of folks forever and nowing that others would try to stop the leader too rather than just try to win. It was like we all tried to make each game last as long as possible if losing but finish it as fast as possible if you were winning. Good times. Dead concept now.
