Favorite Movies

Post by Prowner » Thu Aug 19, 2010 3:48 am

I decided to start a thread about us and our favorite movies.
I'm gonna start off and say, that my all time favorite movie is "Brazil."
Not very many people have seen the movie fore it is rare, but truely and amazing masterpiece starring "Jonathn Pryce", "Michael Palin" and "Robert De Niro." It's a British movie, but a very well developed Black Comedy, Thriller. If anyone has the chance to watch, I hope you enjoy it since it is my favorite movie. Also, it's a pretty long movie... "2 hours, 23 minutes." Well worth it! I've seen it 5 times already. Really only 4 since the 3rd time I watched it it was on "Stars" and they took out 20 minutes of it. I HIGHLY recommend anyone watch it, it will be worth your while.

I need to watch that again - been forever since I've seen it.

Terry Gilliam is brilliant!

Another of his that's MY favorite:

I've heard of "Time Bandits" before, but haven't seen it yet. Whenever we have a Band Practice on Saturdays, after quiet hours so we don't wake up the neighbors, we rent and watch movies. So now I know what's gonna be my first pick.
Also, I'm surprised somebody here has actually seen Brazil. :D

I have never even heard of Brazil but I did see and enjoy Time Bandits.

I have two movies that impacted my life significantly. The first is just simply the best movie I ever saw and just totally blew me away and opened my mind to a higher level of imagination and it was "Star Wars" and when I say that, I mean the first released movie about 25 years ago. The one where Luke Skywalker learns the way of the force. It spawned the most anticipated sequel I ever saw being "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back".

Then there was a not so well known Chuck Norris movie called "The Force of One" which opened my eyes to Karate or at least martial arts. He played a kick boxer in it and it had a great story line.

Good thread!

Wel, I'm actually VERY surprised that Fuzz saw Brazil since it's a rare movie... I've seen all of the Star Wars movies, but I'm gonna have to say the best one is the last one, "Return of the Jedi." Where he has his epic (I hate that word SO much...) battle between him and his true father, then the Emperor. I like them all, but last one is my favorite. I've never heard of that other one, but I'll look into it.

When you're OLD like I am, you've seen a lot of movies.
Besides, anything directed by Terry Gilliam is up my alley.

I'm not a big fan of football but I love the movie Remember The Titans.
Another one I like is the movie Charlie Bartlett.
Both are great movies

I've seen "Remember the Titans," but I've never heard of "Charlie Bartlett." "Remember the Titans" was an excelent movie! I hate football myself, sometimes it's kind of fun to play, especially at the beach. I really love the effort and enthusiasm in that movie. Love it, and I would totally watch it again soon. :)

To me it seems that everyone is interested in the Kung Fu franchise.
Oh well, they're full of action and spirit. Even the lame Kung Fu movies are fun to watch. One in particular "Zombie Vs Ninja." That's a bad one!

I only know Karate, Ti-Qwon-Do, Judo and 4 other chinese words. No, I was never trained in the martial arts yet if you ever saw me fight, you'd think I was. I saw way too many cheap and old Karate movies as a kid on Sunday afternoons. 2 great ones come to mind...
The Five Deadly Venoms and The Kid With The Golden Arm. Awesome old school Karate movies.
