BCCODE
My kids computer got a bccode. I am wondering if anyone here could tell me what the error/issue is. I am trying to find out if it is hardware related or not.
This is the windows generated dump file.

Re: BCCODE
What is BCCODE? I can tell it is from you Dell GX270 and that is about it. Based on what I read about it just now, it seems likely that 1 of three things is happening.
1. Have you changed your ram lately? If so, change it back and see what happens.
2. Are you sure your CPU is no overheating? Clean out the dust and maybe reapply a fresh coat of thermal paste. Make sure the fan is running when the PC is on.
3. Tried installing new drivers lately to some hardware or installed new hardware? If so, try to remove it and see if the problem goes away. This is common with Nvidia cards using older drivers for instance.

2. I will open the computer up and perform these tasks.
3. No, new drivers.

Re: BCCODE
Bummer dude! Then I guess I don't know what to tell you. The first thing I always do when I get a blue screen is a total check of the disk. Tell it to fix problems too. If you can, slave it to another PC and go to DOS and type in chkdsk e: /r where e is the drive letter assigned to the disk once it is slaved.
If you can't slave it then do it the other way through hard drive options, tool, error checking or whatever it is called? Then look up the results in the event viewer. Didn't you and I have some unfinished business with another PC you had or maybe this one? I knew you had a GX270 and you had a question I failed to answer. I'll search for it.

Re: BCCODE
Well,
I just took off the heatsink and fan. I then cleaned the old thermo paste off of the cpu and heatsink. I then cleaned both from old thermal paste and dust. I then put on new(newer) thermal paste (Artic Silver 3 i believe it is called).
We will see how that does. I made sure the memory is seated in correctly.
Hopefully it was just some dust. New Hard drive, newer gx270...... come one Karma can't dislike me that much.

Good luck! Don't forget about that BIOS version! Also, what is the OS you are putting on it?

Re: BCCODE
Well I ran it and my kids are playing on it. I have not seen or have been told from the wife or kids that it has an error yet. But....... you know when you think it might be doing ok, something will most likely will come up. So far, it is working.
P.S. I am surprised you (Herm) was not familiar with the bccode. I know some people out there that are into computers know how to read the bccode and state what the issue was, such as video driver or whatever it might be. But, I am for your help. Hopefully cleaning out the heatsink, fan, and then putting on new thermal paste will help it keep cooler.
