Very nicely done........ It must be a passion, because that looks like a lot of work.
Are you going to pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?

Since a Kid, Ive always decorated.... My Room, The House I grew up in , Outside and Inside. (My Mom never left anythign un-decorated) and Finally my house. It looks like a lot there but it realy isnt. There are other houses in my community that have more lights but no one Syncs them to music like I do. I start getting things out right after Halloween and it takes about a month to set up.

Uggggh! A month? God Bless You then. When I put up mine it takes part of an afternoon. This year so far it was about 8 strands of colored lights. I have a few light candles in the windows too.

I recall as a child I would put lights up around the window in my room. It made it all feel so special back then se we try to do it up for our kids too. No lights in the windows this year but next year maybe they get some. I also have a large patio in the back. I prefer the Christmas lights to the normal ones so I'll hang some lights back there too.

Powewr to you Sir Mandrake. I know I'm flat out jealous of just the lights and to sync them to tunes is totally cool too! Since you go to that much trouble for your house and to show it to us, the least I can do is try harder to put up a picture of mine. Peace.

Well when I say a month its actually 2 days every weekend... so about 8 days and maybe a couple days working under the white lights of the house. It gets dark early so i have to do it on the weekends. One thing I remember doing as a Kid was riding around in the car about a week before Christmas and look at all the lights on the houses. It was a tradition. Now I look out and see cars stopped or driving by with kids watching in teh back. i know Im helping make those christmas memories for others and that makes it all worth while.

However having a display such as this has its hazards too.... Deep snow wreck havoc on the lights.. Ice dams on the roof.. Ugh! One year ice had formed on the floodlights and then melted later that day. Water seeped into the fixture shorting everything out, when the house booted up one of my control boxes blew out several channels. The Show came to screaching halt and I had people waiting for the show to start. There I was out in the freezing rain and snow, in the dark with a flashlight in my mouth re-routing lights to spare channels. After clearing out the water all resumed and the show went on.

Ahh, Good times... I took measures to prevent that from ever happenign again.. lol

Again, an awesome post Sir Mandrake? Did you ever fall down off the ladder or slide off the roof doing these lights and such? Imjuries? Any injuries, I mean besides the electric bill?

When you are on your roof do you wear a red pants and jacket and exclaim ho ho ho, when there are now street walkers in sight? Tiger wood said "What?".

I think that is very cool what you do. I think it is great for the neighborhood, all a round good job.

Ahh Nope... Never had any spills to this day. I'm extremely careful, and the roof lights go up first to beat the snow and Ice. The Electric Bill isnt too bad really. I used to run these lights on all the time before I started Syncronizing them and my Bill is LESS with the computer controlling them.

LOL - I wear my Spiderman suit actually... the suction cups on my palms and knees let me climb anywhere... :P

Also, thanks for the comments Guys.. it means alot to know others can enjoy it even though you cant see it in person....and looking forward to seeing other pictures posted here too. 8)

Due to harsh weather and sub-Zero temps I wasn't able to get another video done. Didnt want to risk damaging my camera.

Looking forward to seeing your house Hook, same for you Herm! (Hint hint)

What I love about the job you did is that it isn't gawdy. Instead it has a wonderful nostalgic look and the wonderment that makes Christmas magical.
Indeed, it could be the perfect Christmas card.

We have some lights up, but I haven't taken pics yet. Will get to that though.

Thanks for the comment SilentBob, i do strive to make it fun to look at without getting tacky or too overboard lol

Look at the top post.......

Added a 3rd video of a song that ran on my house this year using a new Canon Rebel T1i camera and Sony Vegas Movie Studio.

Sadly all but a few Icicle Lights remain on the house after today. Now to start planning whats going to happen next christmas. Yeah!

As I render more videos Ill post them so you all can see the show I put on.

Enjoy!
