About that car David and your AC and or Heater...
What ever happened? I don't recall. You had leaks in the house roof. You bought a car that was rigged. What happened? Get it all worked out? Last I knew you were freezing in your house and your car windows didn't work either. If I recall, with some extra money and planning you had it all scheduled to be worked out.

Re: About that car David and your AC and or Heater...
Thanks for the concern Herm.
The house had a leaking on the roof. I was thinking that I would need to put a new roof or a have a patch done on the house but after having 3 different contractors come over I realized that there was some warped siding on a dorma window that goes to the second floor and the water was getting behind the warped pieces and then getting into the attic and then dripping into our room. I used weather stripping silicone and filled the gap of the warp siding to prevent water getting in. I still would like to get a new roof, a metal one, but that will have to wait due to cost.
The Trailblazer did have unseen/untold issues when I bought it, but I got them fixed by paying with me credit card, since the costs was more than what I had at the time. The vehicle is running good, it drives good, and the wife is happy and that is what matters. I have been paying on the credit card for about a year now concerning the repairs (replaced window motor, replace and paint the missing trim, fixed the instrument cluster, replaced both O2 sensors, spark plugs) and misc items (replaced the tires, flushed and refilled the transmission with the recommended Dexron VI synthetic transmission fluid, front passenger half shaft,.... and I think that is it on the vehicle, at least would what I remember right off hand). We took the vehicle on a road trip to another state after most of the repairs were done it was nice. I would like to get a better stereo for it, but that will have to wait until other things are completed and paid for.
But, I am supposed to get my Federal tax return next Friday and I will be paying off my credit card with that. So that I am pleased with. Thanks for checking on me Herm.

I recall now that you mention it about the the window trim being your leak point. I'm especially glad for you that you got the car all worked out. If I recall, you got a real good deal and even spending all of that to make it right, it still likely was less than had you bought one at a higher price.
I'm looking forward to my tax return this year. It should be gobs and gobs and money! I haven't filed yet though. I have great credit but credit is a bad thing indeed when you owe for it. Pay it down and hopefully I will too and we'll all live happily ever after. CYA!

Concerning the car, I originally thought I got a great deal for a sharp looking vehicle (eBay).... After the repairs and costs, I still feel that I made out good/fair. I forgot that I had to pay to have the car transported by a car hauler from the dealer in New Jersey to Arizona.
Anyways, I look forward to tax season as well since I get a refund check. I will pay off my credit card with the return so the only things that I owe money on would be the home related loans (home loan and home equity loan).
I have a good credit as well, but I do not like owing money. I learned from watching my parents who were the examples of what not to do.
I remember Hook giving us advise last year about debt and should be a goal to get out of debt and not to use credit cards and how he does not have credit cards anymore. Good advice if you are able to do so.
I have the credit cards just in case of emergencies or if it is really needed. A back up plan you might say.

Well first off I wanted to say thank you to the US government for being on time... Thank You!
My federal return came in today and I was able to pay off my credit card. So I am very thankful. I am not boasting or trying to be boastful, but I am trying to express my gratitude.
I was going to post this in the Thankful post I created a while back ago, but I did not find it. ......
oops.... I found it. It is the Grateful thread..... I will post there as well but this will bring a nice closure to this thread . Thank you.

Re: About that car David and your AC and or Heater...
Well, for some time (a month or few) there was an unknown noise coming from the right front. I took it to a "mechanic" and he claimed it was the half shaft. We had the right front half shaft replaced but the noise was still present......
That was a couple weeks ago. I was in a different town/city where there was a Chevy dealer so I went there and asked them to look at it and if they could tell me what the noise was. They identified the issue as the right front hub assembly/bearing. I found out the bearing is part of the hub assembly so you would need to order the hub assembly if you wanted to replace the bearing.
Anyways, after some time and $$$ (part=$150, labor=$200) the vehicle was no longer making the noise.

Will you be killing the folks that claimed it was the driveshaft and replaced it at your cost for no reason? If the CV joint boot was split or torn then it was a good thing they changed the whole shaft. Yeah some hub bearings come all as 1 piece and the price can be higher or lower depending on the car but I am sure you paid way to much for the labor. Sometimes mechanics suck. I never stuck it to the customer ever when I worked on cars.

The price was for 1.5 or 2 hours of labor. It was around $98 an hour and then "shop fees".....
Concerning the half shaft, there was a wall of grease underneath the half shaft so they claimed it was out.
I just won't go to that mechanic anymore.
