Oh Mickey Your So Fine Your So Fine You Blow My Mind

Post by The Jargonaut » Fri May 11, 2007 9:25 pm

Okay, I really just gave away my age there with that Toni Basil ditty.

Just wanted to let you know that I will be in sunny Orlando Florida next week spending quality time (and a lot of cash) at Mickey M's favorite place. I am so stoked about seeing Disney again! I was a teen the last time that I went. Now I would bet that it is incredible! The new zoo, water park, movie studios... WOW! I feel like a kid again myself.

Mickey, I hear that the food is really high. Any suggestions on saving money? Gonna get some sandwich stuff and the like but any other ideas would be awesome.
Thanks and yes... I am getting one of those mouse ear hats.

:D

Eat as little as possible!

But really, it sounds like you have the right idea. Buy food for the room and when eating in the parks, stick with the counter service places for the best "Bang for the Buck".

Where are you staying Jarg?

Are better yet, enjoy the experience of Walt Disney. Sure it's going to cost you a buck or two more....but be a kid again.

Just returned a couple of hours ago and I am EXHAUSTED. We stayed at one of the economy resorts, All Star Movies.

Most of our time was spent at The Magic Kingdom. My girlfriend has a 5 year old and it has the most kid friendly stuff. Animal Kingdom is really cool too.
I had a great time! The weather was perfect in the middle 80s most of the time. Just one little rain storm. Florida is REALLY dry. We drove through the smoke from the fires just outside of Orlando.
The cost was really not too bad. GAS was the most expensive thing. I saw $3.18 per gallon in Georgia coming home.

We did not go to Epcot or MGM Studios. Just not enough time. I will take them back in a few years and we will hit those areas.

The trip was worth every dollar when I saw the look in the little girls eyes when she saw Cinderella's Castle for the first time. :D

First of all, Welcome back Jarg! Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself :D It's great when the typical afternoon rains hold off! Did you have a chance to ride Expidition Everest while you were at AK? ( love this ride ).
Somehow I have the idea that the girls weren't the only one's with that "Look" the first time seeing the castle. The wife and I just love parking on Main St. and watching folks as they come into sight of the castle. Those BIG grins just come over their faces.
We just got back from Las Vegas. Spent three full days there. OMG!!!! Talk about expensive !!! Made Disney World look like a budget vacation. Spent $600 US $120 for the two of us at the Star Trek Expierience at the LV Hilton and $8 on gambling. The rest was all food! And we were eating "on the cheap". Last time we'll be going there LOL Now it's wait till Nov. for our next WDW trip :D
