Re: MH-Andromeda
This might just be the best map UT has seen. I know that the creator, Nr.2000, sometimes posts here so I'm hoping to catch the attention of either him, or someone who has been around long enough to know what's going on. In my Maps folder I have the following:
MH-Andromeda-Ancient-Test1G
MH-Andromeda-Ancient-Test1K
MH-Andromeda-Ancient-Test1M
MH-Andromeda-Ancient-Test1V
MH-Andromeda-Part1-BETA07
MH-Andromeda-Part1-BETA08
MH-Andromeda-Part1-BETA14
MH-Andromeda-Part2-BETA14
Basically, I would just like to know how many different versions there are of this map, if there are any versions that are not included in the list, which is the oldest and which is the most recent, and are there any revision/change logs. I've noticed that most of the differences/amendments are negligible in the versions I named above.
What's the difference between Ancient and Part 1/2? Aren't test and beta maps the same thing? Why are the tests labelled G/K/M/V and not A/B/C/D? There seems to be a bit of confusion shrouding this map (at least for me there is).
Besides all that, this map is truly amazing. This definitely ranks extremely high as one of the best and most original maps I have had the pleasure of playing. I hate to use this word to describe it because it is so overused these days, but this is without a doubt an epic map.

Yes, there are many revisions to this map and not sure what the last revision is or if the map is even completed. I would rather have a V1 and V2 instead of all those revisions. My server only has a couple of these map that I know work to the end. it would be nice to know what the final version is.

I wish I knew all of the answers too. Sorry I don't. Welcome to this forum is the most important thing I have to tell you. I'd also like to say that you have many more versions of the map than I do. I think at one point he broke the map in half because it was so big. I don't know if he ever finished it. I always knew it as a work in progress.
I'll try to point you in the right direction though. Go here and log in and ask for "Chico"

Chico owns that place and he was always way better than I at keeping up with the latest versions of maps. Another person you will want to meet here is Nameless Entity. He knows a few of the answers I'm sure!

Re: MH-Andromeda
If you haven't heard of or played any of the Andromeda maps then you must not play MH much. LoL... there isn't a MH server out there that doesnt have it in its collection and yes, that map is large and fun to play. A challenge to play solo too.EvilGrins wrote:Don't think I've ever heard of it.

Re: MH-Andromeda
Since it came out I have called it the best MH-Map ever made. I know plenty have been released since but I'm sure it still hits the top 10. Sir Mandrake is correct. Every single MH server should some version of this map on it unless they are trying to cycle through maps quickly.

Re: MH-Andromeda
If you want to test Chico's server will be better to have some files in cache. Last time when I tried to join I downloaded very slow files and took 1h and 17 mins all downloads related to a big map. I hope that redirect is fixed now.
About maps ?
I didn't observed many bugs or troubles with those maps, just I had:
MH-Andromeda-Ancient-Test1V
and
MH-Andromeda-Part1-BETA14
MH-Andromeda-Part2-BETA14
These latest 2 versions are linked, I mean from first episode you have an automated servertravel to second episode (nice work and respect).

Either the admin is ignoring my request for an account or he just hasn't been online to check. Do you feel like making a thread linking to here? I just have a feeling it will be a while until I manage to get an account on excalibur holland.Hermskii wrote:I'll try to point you in the right direction though. Re: MH-Andromeda
There is a chance that the forum you are trying to join (the one I pointed you to) may be an old one. I will log in over there and ask Chico to see to your needs. Sorry about the delay.
OK, I have sent PMs to Chico, Nameless Entity and NR2000 himself asking them to help you. It's all in God's hands now. It was before too for that matter. LOL.
Good luck. Here is my request of you now: Post your findings here when you get the help you have requested. I'm curious myself at this point.

Re: MH-Andromeda
So, I had right, that place I think has no longer maintenance, redirect missed, no response in forum, hm.
Anyway, if I remember I think I have those 3 maps mentioned, if SIR Hermskii is agree, I can upload them here, of course I have to dig on backup DVD, also to pack them with all required files...
