Happy St. Patrick's Day

Post by a nameless entity » Sat Mar 17, 2012 1:56 pm

A happy St. Paddy's day to you all.

I'm dog sitting at my brother's place until Monday night, so no going out for any green beer for me. But I have been having some fun watching all the comedy TV shows themed around St. Patrick's Day on my brother's million channel cable tv. (The things you miss without cable tv reruns: The Simpson's Marge complaining when the Irish Catholics and Protestants start a rumble during Springfield's St. Patrick's Day festival: "Everything was fine until those Irish guy's showed up!" LMAO.)

I know this guy. He used to ride with my HOG chapter back when it was first going. He is a cousin of one of my best friends from work. We three used to bend an elbow or two or three together back in the day. ;)

Last night I watched a program about the masses of Irish immigrants that came to the Toronto area during the potato famine of the late 1840's. It seems it was easier to emmigrate to Canada than the USA back then. Apparently it still is today.

The top of the day to you all.

Hour late maybe but I hope everyone had a good one. Finny to me how much it meant to me in the past for partying. I did none of that today. I did mow the yard! There was green grass...

Arrrghhhh the news up here has been talking about this for days, and apparently the whole "twitterverse" has been commenting upon it also.

It seems the students at Fanshawe College in the sleepy little city of London, Ontario had themselves a large St. Patrick's Day riot. Very surprising for that normally peaceful place.

There was some talk that this new "social media" was partly responsible for its getting so far out of hand, as people flocked to the area to see what was going on, and some of them joined in the destruction.
-This begs the question "What is wrong with so many young people these days? :x

I submit to you Nameless that none of those people that caused that trouble and destruction are members of this forum. Just saying...LOL.

I turned 59 nine days ago. I have no idea what the median age is in this community, but I bet it's older, rather than younger. So it seems unlikely very many members are college student age.

I of course, am the most out of touch with the age group that took part in that riot. So what do I know? :?:

Really? Did we have a happy B-Day here for you? Why does your B-Day escape me? Did I even say anything about it. GAWD. My memory is all gone kids!

Life happens. We'll all get over it I'm sure. I'm anxious to see Chico make another great run in the MH world of servers. He has a real good collection of folks over there too. I'm going to try to pay a little more attention this time around too. I told him I hope to get some pointers...

If his group of mappers get going again now that their home server is up and running once more, who knows what we might see? Monster Hunt may get a whole new lease on life again, as if did a few years ago. 8)

Oh hey, we're talking about this in the wrong thread. What a pair of old geezers! ;)
