Hey ppls.

Just wanted to know what sort of setup you have in the way of the keys/controllers you use for ut99.

i use my arrow keys with jump as right cntrl. Crouch as " \ " mousewheel up change wepon and the two mouse buttons for fire and alt fire.

Anyone using a playstation type controller or joystick? (does that even work?)

I purchased a ps1 style gamepad a while ago but it didnt have the duel shock joystick hingys so its useless. you can run but not free look.

Just thought it would be interesting to find out how YOU play.

Being that I mostly play Redeemer my setup is somewhat simple.
Arrows buttons are for directions---running and turning.
Mouse--redeemer and teleportor.
Ctrl button is jump.
NumPad0 button crouch.

Left hand mouse.
Right hand arrows.

And every so often I use my left hand for beer.

4 arrow keys for moving, delete for crouch walk/crawl, insert if there needs to be a use function, ctrl to jump, middle mouse to change weapons other 2 for primary/alt fire, 4th mouse button for chat.
A few players i know use THIS

I use W, S, A and D instead of arrows, Shift to walk (on the edge of something), C to Crouch, SPACE to jump and X to stay crouched (toggle key).
I have the Z key set on Wide angle view (about 120 degrees)

there are some sites with some explanations for that stuff but I've lost the links :(
Too much lag ? go fishing...

Speaking of settings....I have some advice for the masses.
"Sound" is very important, be it foot steps behind you or a redeemer chasing you.
But a lot of you can't hear certain sounds because of the music/songs playing during the game.
My advice is to turn your music volume down and your sound volume up.
Log on to UT...click Options...Preferences...Audio... Music volume down.
Did you hear me? Well maybe NOW you can.....

I use a 'ball mouse' - i think that's what they're called - the base of the mouse stays stationary, and only the ball on top is used (still has left/right click) - Since I been usin this mouse the traditional mouse is obsolete to me....so much more control/options, as far as movement and looking around.

Once you get used to it, youll never go back to a regular mouse again !...especially playin UT, youre movin that mouse back and forth like a mofo....with the ball mouse it last lot longer, since the base never moves....i can make my deemer twirl around in circles while flying, by spinning my ball around...only 20.00 at CompUSA.....
