2013 New Year's Resolutions:

Post by Hermskii » Tue Jan 01, 2013 11:24 pm

I normally don't make any resolutions but i'm going to give one a go this recently. Luckily, a few years back I said I'd be a better Houston Texans fan and I have watched and enjoyed the games much more since then.

Last year I was finally able to kick my smoking habit. I smoked about a pack a day for about the last 30 years. Even more on weekends. I quite smoking last February I think it was. I was on Chantix for 3 weeks and then just went full cold turkey. I had stopped drinking alcohol too at the same time. I was really just trying to prove to my wife and myself that I could. Stopping the drink was easy. Sure I missed it and wanted to party down often but I managed to hold off long enough that now drinking is simply no big deal. Smoking was a whole different story. I'd still love to smoke a cigarette right now but I'm too proud that I have quit for this long already to mess it up. I get the urge and then 1 or two minutes later it is gone.

I gained lots of weight during the time I mentioned above. I'm a natural 6' tall and normally weigh about 180. I had gone up to 226 a few months back. I went back down to 210 without too much effort but plateaued there and then the weight came back. I'm around 218 now.

My New Year Resolution is to get to back under 200 pounds this year and hopefully even under 190 pounds. Wish me luck. Pray for me too. Thanks!

What are you considering trying to do this year in the form of an official New Year Resolution?
~Peace~

My most personal New Year's resolution? Well, truthfully I'd just like to see another one

Kidding (a little). This year will be the year I improve myself to be the things I always wanted to be but I was too weak to make myself into. Things I WILL do this year:

-Keep my Faith and share it when it's right to do so. It's the Great Commission after all.
-Wag more, bark less. Way less.
-Compliment people when they deserve it. There's not enough good vibes handed around.
-Be a better Dad and Husband, I wasn't always the best.

That's just the short list but you get the idea. Be a better man, simple as it sounds.

I'll pray for you to stay off the alcohol & tobacco, but you're on your own for the weight loss. ;)

What does a pack of smokes and a case of beer go for in Texas now? Do the math on just the smokes and smile!

The last time I weighed myself I was 239 lb. 10 years ago I weighed over 280. After that I gradually got my weight down to 250-255 but it stayed there until I started actually measuring my portions in 2012.
Starting this year my portions go down a bit more, and no more "extra pinch" of this or that goes into the cooking pot.
My long term goals are 225, then 200, then 180-190 or so. Wish me luck, eh!?

I like that wag more, bark less idea. It dovetails neatly with the compliments. You're right, there aren't enough good vibes out there.

I think I'll try to be a better man in the same way. I've been on the receiving end of some kindnesses recently, it is time to make sure that I am giving back. :)
I'm a man........but I can change........if I have to........I guess

You are very welcome Herm, and thank you for that. It's a grey day for me and you just gave me a very nice boost :)

I'm going with the ever popular, lose some weight.

That or take the weight I have and put it in better shape.

- Hurt more people pysically, be even more aggressive.
- Not going to jail anymore, ( Lie to police if necessary)
- Be more stubborn
- Eliminate everything that stands in way of succes of what I am trying to archieve.
- Grow larger, and stronger( even though I'm almost 2 meters tall(195 cm standing up straight)
- Wipe the floor with those that try to bring me down.
- Be less independent of that is around me.
- Clean up unresolved bad karma if such thing exist in the cosmos.

But most importantly:
- Love the ones that are worth loving, ignore the rest.
like ppl around you, family and certain animals.

These are my resolutions or best wishes for 2013.
And yes, I'm bloody serious about these things.
I'm sick of my life.

If only you could channel all that negativity into finishing your maps.

Yeah, I'll try. I want to be the Terraniux again with the nice and happy attitude, full of UT99 spirit. I'm sure that day will come, just to need to discharge this negative inside of me.

The negative my friend is also part of who you are. Anger can be a powerful force if you harness it, it can drive you to perform better than you ever could.

Please don't feel pressure by our saying these things, that you have to somehow begin mapping if your heart isn't into it. I just want you to know that people out in UT land do really enjoy what you do and recognize your talents. If you create again I'll gladly play it but if not then it's your choice.
