Internet Explorer 10

Post by Hermskii » Sun Mar 03, 2013 12:47 am

It is new. It is out. It is 20% faster than IE9. I am pleased so far. I have only had it 5 minutes though. Let me keep looking it over. I will try to report back my findings. So far though it looks exactly like IE9.

Does IE normally auto-update itself? (default)
I gotta see what version I have on my new comp. 8)
I know it is pretty new.

Well I can't have it because I'm on XP. Oh well. :mrgreen:

And on a related topic: My nephew and his fiancee were talking back at Xmas time that every other Micro$oft O/S has been a dog. So my question is, which O/S is the current one, (8?) and is it this one or the next one due out soon that is or will be the one not to get?

I'm pretty sure it is the one not to get. Your nephew is right. That is nearly totally true that every other OS Microsoft releases is awful. Windows ME is the king of awful and Vista was pretty close to being as bad to many people. Chime in now HOOK. I know you have to tell us about your WINDOWS ME great experience. I have a PC with ME on it and it is fine but historically it was one of the biggest mishaps Microsoft ever endured yet required so that Win 2000 and later XP could come about. That is the good news. That for each bad version that comes out, you know they will have resolved most of the issues and added even more cool stuff for the next release.

So is Windows 8 the latest one out, or is it due to be replaced soon? I see new PC's for sale with Windows 8 on them, but honestly have no idea if 8 is the "good" one to buy, or if it was whatever preceded it that was the "good" one, thereby making 8 the one to avoid. I never really paid enough attention, so I have no idea.

Sorry. Yes, Windows 8 is the last one out. It is basically Windows 7 which is good but it is Microsoft's first real swing at trying to make a home OS run like their OS on their phones. To maximize the WINDOWS 8 OS at home, you would have to have a touch screen monitor so that you could us it like you would use Windows 8 on your phone. I hear you can tell it to look and run like Windows 7 but I think it will be a long time most people own a touch screen monitor at home.

Yeah, if you have 7, no need to have 8 unless you want the touch screen stuff.
Also, for sure you can make 8 look like older PC OSes.
Same with 7.

Stupid YouTube is now telling me that my version of IE is outdated. I'm running v.8.0.6 that's not so far behind, is it?

I may be all you got if you have XP. I don't think XP runs 9 or 10. Youtube just wants you to get Chrome. Do it.

Isn't Microsoft behind Windows and isn't it also behind Internet Explorer. That said, why would they screw themselves like this in making their own products not function together?

My thought. For the moment I have Win XP SP3. PC runs fine, no errors (I have a few files ruined at a HDD space failure but works as I need). The problems:
1) First I have to buy a Win7 - I don't see a real reason to do this for me is not cheap - I throwed already too much money for IT - "cool versions" aren't in my inventory because I don't need a customization done for other computer which is causing troubles for me;
2) I need to waste a lot of time to reinstall everything;
3) I need to see which new troubles are coming in a new platform not so well known for me;
4) I don't need touch-screen at home - tell me why I need to dig for letters - I don't think it helps so much at coding.

As long as some sites have "new" scripts (looks like nobody can dowload anything until this moment - even all people downloaded a bunch of files from Internet) and we cannot sleep if we don't have new scripts - to hide a new malware formula and new exploits maybe. I think is all about money, let's make people to buy OS-es. Why not ? I found very beautifull Web pages browsable in any Platform without to install Win3000.
YOu don't want to see a touch-screen after 3-4 years of a heavy usage...

Exactly why I did Not shell out $200 more for the touch screen version of my new comp.
I am not that big of an idiot LOL :lol:
How about a slew of greasy fingered grandchildren using your touch screen? :shock:
That is what I was thinking - No Way! :wink:

What's a grandchildren? Before people actually start to answer that for me, please understand that I'm actually harassing HOOK about his age and the fact that he has them and I'm well over a decade away before I have any. I hope this clears up any confusion.
