Hello all - Back from Phoenix Arizona!
Although my wife and I had a fantastic and great time in Arizona, it is pretty good to be back home again.
This was really my first time in AZ, even though when I was about 4 years old I did go through AZ in the back of my mom's 57 Dodge Hemi station wagon, way back in the summer of 1959, a lot on "Route 66".
Back then, we were on our way out of California after my father was killed in a plane crash - he was a NAVY Test Pilot.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch as they say...
My wife and I went down to AZ for a week mainly to be with her best friend Vicky that she grew up with and went to school with, and her boy friend.
They live in Sun City AZ. (suburb of Phoenix AZ)
Vicky's dad has a very nice trailer in a Resort trailer park right adjacent to Sun City.
That park is "gated" (guards 24/7) and has a ton of ammenities!!!
FYI - Sun City and also the Resort Park that we stayed in Retirement Communities, and they are Beautiful indeed! - Residents must be 55 years or older.
We stayed in Vicky's dad's trailer that he owns and had full use of the park and his car for the week, because he was back in Minnesota for the summer.
Cool eh?
I was also going to try to meet up with a few online UT friends.
Fuzz_Ball, Pandemonium, and maybe Dave? (all 3 live in AZ)
Fuzz_Ball was an easy for sure one because he lives right in Phoenix AZ.
Pandemonium lives up closer to the Grand Canyon in Williams AZ, and we were going on a tour up to the Grand Canyon, so I thought maybe I might be able to do a short meet with him, but alas, we only went through his town without stopping.

I did get a picture of his town as we went through.
But darn, we just didn't have the time to do the meet - But NEXT Time I hope to do that!!!
I do not know where Dave lives in AZ, so didn't connect with him.

I did get to meet with Fuzz_Ball !!! YAY!

I had some time on Friday the 5/24/2013 so I invited him over to our trailer (actually it is what they call a Park Model) at 1:00 pm that day.
I met him at the front gate where I hopped into his car so I could guide him back to our place, after first stopping by the recreation center and pool area where my wife, her friend and her friend's boyfriend were enjoying the pool, and to meet them.
We had a few Coronas and Millers (and a few snacks) and chatted about UT, our lives, and whatever until nearly 4 pm or so, then my wife came back and joined us in the chat for almost another 1/2 hour or so.
Then we had to go meet up with the other folks for dinner at their house in Sun City so I had to say goodby to Fuzz_Ball.

I will tell you all, Fuzz_Ball is a really great guy. Yes he is!
I really liked him a lot, and I hope/think he liked me and my wife as well.
I felt we had a great time and I am certain we became even better friends in person than you can online.
I plan on meeting up with him every time we come down to AZ from now on, as we plan on coming probably ever year, and he is certainly welcome to stay with us at our home here in Minnesota, if he ever gets up to Minnesota!
Both Fuzz_Ball and I have a few pictures of us, and I hope he posts his here too!
Here is one that Fuzz posted of us... (Fuzz on the left) We saw a lot of sights - the Grand Canyon, Old Tucson, the Pima Air and Space Museum, etc., etc.
At the Pima Air and Space Museum, I got to see quite a few of the planes my dad flew and even a couple of versions of the aircraft my dad crashed in.
I'll tell ya, I "lost it" (cried) when I came up to those planes!
I just let loose and it was hard to stop weeping - I had never walked up to one of those A3D Sky Warriors that my dad lost his life in.
But I was glad to be able to do it, as I felt close to him again after 54+ years of being without him.
Plants? - The plants were just beautiful, with many in bloom - cactus galore!
Animals? - All over Phoenix AZ there are a lot of Doves, Quails with babies (man were the Quails and babies Funny!), Small Rabbits, and at night the Geckos come out big time!
GEx, would LOVE it there! LOL

Coyotes were plentiful also and were roaming around a lot even on the main roads!
In Minnesota we have a lot of Coyotes, but they are more wild and not seen as much, even though they are out around our houses mainly at night.
Anyway, I got a lot of pictures that I will share some of them here with you all at Hermskii's, and some at Fuzz_Ball's forum, when I get them downloaded off the camera one of these nights, but most of them I will post over on my sight.
(to come)
