Server Help

well i am trying to start a server for when like mhm is down and for other reasons but, first off i am having some problems with the server administrative abilities...what i mean is every time i do adminlogin (password) nothing happensam i doing somthing wrong? next how can i tell if people can see my server on the internet games? finally can i rrun a server with just a wireless adapter?? :? any help would be appreciated thx!!!

I can't help rest of But one question I can is next ....How can i tell if people can see my server on the internet games? Just Look it up under Monster Hunt See it up.

First check to make sure you have advertise server checked in "Multiplayer>Start New Multiplayer Game>Server" tab. If you are using a router you should open ports 7777 - 7787 so packages can go back and forth from players computers to your server. If you are using a wireless adapter the ports still must be open on the router. Wireless does not matter at all in the equation , the information is still going to the router so open the ports for it. While looking at the server list you can hit F5 to make your computer refresh the serverlist on your screen.

It is best to run the server "Dedicated" If you dont know what this is look it up on the Unreal Wiki.
It is also best to play using a different install of UT then the one your server is using. Then you can check for yourself whether or not it is on the serverlist. "bare in mind though the master server list does not refresh imidiatly" You may have to wait a little while before it shows up on the list. 20 - 30 min is plenty of time to wait for it to refresh.

Adminlogin:
Look in the tab: start new multiplayer game>Server
check to make sure you have specified your admin name
or you can look in the UnrealATournament.ini at this section:

Monsterhunt looks at its own ini not the UT one.

Once you successfully log in you see your name at the top where the text goes saying you became an administrator. The text will be white. You now have admin privleges on your server. To logout just type logout.

actually herm no...im having some trouble with my map vote i am using MapVote LA13 and i want to know how to make it so the maps are only MH maps any help? and also when ever i play(prctice session,myown server) i get a weapon called the schwantz any one else get this...and if so how do i disable it?

Hahahaha. Yes. It comes with the mod but I turn it off to. You have to adjust/edit a file in your UT/system folder called Bigiz2.ini so that some of the settings look like mine. You'll know what to change. Here is a copy of mine:

Since the second part was answered, I can help on the 1st part, but will need to see what the MapVoteLA.ini is like. Odds are the other maps are set to true & the CustomGameConfig isn't done for it.

Ok, well you got to make it look similar to this example here. MH is not a default UT gametype as this mapvote was made for, so it's got to be added as a customgameconfig & enabled to TRUE plus the needed mutator(s) for it to work. Since you just want MH on the mapvote, then put all the other gametypes to FALSE. If you want the maps spread out among the 4 columns, then you can put in List1Filter[0] MH-A* , List2Filter[0] MH-H*, etc. What that does is bring up all the maps in the 1st column maps named with A to G and the 2nd column H to.... well you get the idea. It would depend on how many maps you got to make an evenly numbered spread.
A lot of the stuff on it has been said at the link I gave within all the various posts done at that forum where it came from. It even got Herm onto there needing some help to get his going, but you can look for that yourself on that forum. :wink:

Thanks Herm, that's another good example (although I noticed the mutators are not listed that you use there).

I also see that you don't have a LogoTexture for yours. :o Would you like one to be displayed in the blank spot (when no map pic is shown)? I've made a few custom ones for others, so if you got a picture in mind, let me know & I'll do it (at no cost to you!). :wink:

Btw X, you don't need to put anything for ServerInfoURL, unless you do happen to have one. :)

You are right. I didn't list them and that is a copy of my original. If this is set wrong then I 'm shocked it works. I guess you have to list them if you change the gametype or mutators from map to map and I don't so I never needed that section.

I'd love to put something in that empty box. How about "Welcome to MHM" in a really cool font and red letters. Thanks.

You have to remember it's going to be small, but I did 2 pictures for now as per what you wanted. One uses the UT font & the other with another type. I also added in Herm's so as to make it more to who's it is & to make it better fitting in the square look of it. If you like one of them, then I can later make it to the utx file needed to be put on there. If you got something else in mind, let me know also.
