what is the difference between a mesh and a static mesh?
are static meshes used in ed 2.0?
i have located meshes but i am unable to place them in my level, for example i can select a tree but how do i place it and select the size etc.
what is maya? is it compatible with 2.0

A mesh or / static mesh is a object such as a book or a statue or a rocket or any actor in game that you can see. Static means non moving obviously.
A tree is a good example.
To put one in your level just click on the actor menu button that looks like a chess pawn.
Go down to the one you want.
Then highlight it. example: select nalicow
Now go to your 3d viewport and rightclick on the floor somewhere. Then select add nalicow here.
Bam you have a nalicow or tree or what ever.
You can right click on it and make it bigger or different textured or what ever you want. you can even make it sing like John Travolta.
