Master server down " MAN DOWN ! "

Has anyone else noticed all the servers are gone from the MH server list?

Well, early this week one of the Master Servers went down.
Leaving the east half of the united states without any MonsterHunt server tabs.
Maybe it's down for maintenance , maybe something to do with the Hurricane?
I dont know.

It went back on this morning and now it is off again.
WTF?
When can i get a list of MH servers again?
Herm please post when MHM goes back up and please post updated ip.

woops should have read this thread first lol
i posted over in mhm2 that i thought a master server went down lol guess i was right (or close)
but for me if i click on the tab that brings up all of the unreal tournament servers, that list does not load up either.
is anybody else having this problem? or is it just mh tab for you guys?

There is a master server down,
So allot of people don't have a working server list.
The only one that is broke for me is the MH but other people have reported loosing some other game type lists.
I suppose it is all depending on where you live.

There are alternate master servers that you can add into you UT.ini to get more servers on the list.
Does anyone know these addresses? It could help people who don't have a list at all.

Kort it could help if you could post which specific master server was down, then maybe we can work with it, im sure if none of us knows another list, we(as in all of us) could probably figure it out.

We have some interesting theories posted over at HUTP.
I suspect it has to do with those malicious code attacks on UT2k4 and UT3, and the possibility that the master servers are doing some filtering with MH being unexpected code, it might be filtered out also.
If we get some more "definite" answers, I'll post them here!
So far it looks as though most everyone is Guessing as to what is or was wrong!

If you Actually KNOW a master server is or was down then say so and more importanly WHY it went down and WHY you know this!
I haven't had ANY problems what so ever myself.

PS: So far, I have been un-affected by whatever it is or was.
All my tabs work (last I checked) and worked well.

Maybe because I do not have MH Actually installed on my comp.

Are we even sure IF a master server is down?
It may be just filtering certain game types or code?

OK people there are two options here.

These are the only choices we have to get our MH tab back.

1.to Recode or Patch the MH mod - The Master server that is down is gamespy0. In the monsterhunt code it uses that server to get the list of MH servers. all we need to do is add alternate servers into the code.
Since the 1 server thats in the code is down we have no MH tab. UT uses other servers also for the other lists so if one goes down the whole thing is not wiped out. Come to think , We are working on a new version of MH, We NEED FIX this in there in case this happens again.

or:
2.Wait for Gamespy0 to go back up witch it might never? Or might tonight cause it was dawn for maintenance?
Time will tell.

I was going to pm you about this.
We should add this into the new MH code.

We should add in the other 2 major Master Servers into the code so if one MS goes down every one still has a MH server list.

master0.gamespy.com is the down server.

So add:
master1.multiplay.co.uk MasterServerPort=27900
unreal.epicgames.com MasterServerPort=27900
master.qtracker.com MasterServerPort=27900
We need to double check the port #s

Also what about :
utmaster.epicgames.com,MasterServerTCPPort=28900

I am learning about this as we go folks, But it looks like this would solve the problem in the future.
