Awesome David.
Yes, I am thrilled with my system. My former best score was 15,000 and that was with my current machine I'm typing on right now which also happens to be my main computer and gaming computer. It is totally built out so I'll keep it till it dies then move up to that PC that scored my best score.
3DMark2001SE with the 330 patch was one of the1st benchmarks I ever used. I install it, load it up and run it without making any changes to it ever. I get a score and that score tells me whether I'm doing better or not than with the last system I tested or compared to someone elses system. In this case you won between the 2 of us which is fine. I did not post to compete but this program is for exactly what you did. You tried it and posted results. It means you have a better system than mine. Congrats. I'm thrilled that you got that score which is now the highest score I have ever read about on this test. I know there are others that are higher but for me I'm just always trying to improve my score with each new system I get.
You should keep up the testing. Go to
www.futuremark.com and pull down the 2006 version of this test and run it. They may even have a newer one too. The old test you and I ran is outdated but to be honest, I use it cause it does usually work on all computers where the newer test often crush older computers especially with older video cards. The video card and the processor are the 2 main things I've noticed can massively change your score between tests with this test. Ram did not have much effect for me.
What OS are you using? I'm on Windows XP 32 bit on a intel mobo with a Pentium IV 3.0 processor with Hyper Threading. The video card is my very first PCIe BFG nVidia 9600GT. I have 1 gig of ram. It has a 800FSB and memory runs at 533mhz. This computer is several years old already but much better than the one I'm typing on and play on right now.
Let us know. Take it easy.
