Nice. That sure is a nice piece of hardware you have there. I need to take a picture of my set up. You'll laugh hard and be shocked when you see the server too.

You can see my Comp at the Smithsonian Institute or at just about any reputable antique store that has computers.
An IT neighbor was totally amazed that mine is still running and running very well. :?
One thing that is good - virtually NO worries about virusses, etc.
I'm running WinME and nobody writes any malware for it. 8)

Muhahahaha. Windows ME is funny. I have a PC with it on it. Runs great though I still think Win ME is the worst OS Microsoft EVER released. Glad yours works well too. I have a new rig. I'll tell you folks about it soon. I can say that I have broken the 1000 FPS barrier in UT with it! It also scored above 24,000 on 3DMark2001SE with the 330 patch installed. I'm happy. My old record was around 15,000. till a week ago. Then it was 18,000. Now, it is above 24,000 and I have not tweaked my system yet.

Thanks Herm for sharing with us the program you use to test your system, at least the video portion. After I read your post, I went and downloaded 3DMark2001 SE program you mentioned. That has some nice graphics to test the system. My score was 29566, hopefully that is OK to good range. I know when I went to the website to compare mine to another, it stated that there was only one that was in the same field as mine but it had an ungodly number in the 100000 with a processor speed near 7 gig. So I fall very short compared to that.

Anyways, here are some pictures of my rig. It is not fancy or pretty, but as long it gets me where I want to go, that is all the matters. I am going to add more memory to my computer later this week.

My specs right now is Amd Athlon 64X2 (3.21 GHz), 2 gb of ram (I am adding 2 gb more this week), an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT and two hard drives (260 gig and 400 gig), and a Haran Kardon 2.1 speaker system.

You know, I do not know much about anything. I know some here and there, but I am no expert on anything. Anyways, I was curious about the test scores on 3DMArk2001 SE, so I looked up some scores. Some scores I saw were way higher than mine. Which is fine. I do not know how to tweak the video settings, and I really don't care to. If Herm is happy with his score, it seems that he is, than I should be happy with mine. For what I use my computer for, it does me fine.

I just have a competitive nature. Take no offense, for I do not mean to offend anyone. I am waiting for someone to post their "Rig" that have liquid cooling, black lights, neon lights, and spinners?, ok maybe not spinners.

Awesome David.

Yes, I am thrilled with my system. My former best score was 15,000 and that was with my current machine I'm typing on right now which also happens to be my main computer and gaming computer. It is totally built out so I'll keep it till it dies then move up to that PC that scored my best score.

3DMark2001SE with the 330 patch was one of the1st benchmarks I ever used. I install it, load it up and run it without making any changes to it ever. I get a score and that score tells me whether I'm doing better or not than with the last system I tested or compared to someone elses system. In this case you won between the 2 of us which is fine. I did not post to compete but this program is for exactly what you did. You tried it and posted results. It means you have a better system than mine. Congrats. I'm thrilled that you got that score which is now the highest score I have ever read about on this test. I know there are others that are higher but for me I'm just always trying to improve my score with each new system I get.

You should keep up the testing. Go to www.futuremark.com and pull down the 2006 version of this test and run it. They may even have a newer one too. The old test you and I ran is outdated but to be honest, I use it cause it does usually work on all computers where the newer test often crush older computers especially with older video cards. The video card and the processor are the 2 main things I've noticed can massively change your score between tests with this test. Ram did not have much effect for me.

What OS are you using? I'm on Windows XP 32 bit on a intel mobo with a Pentium IV 3.0 processor with Hyper Threading. The video card is my very first PCIe BFG nVidia 9600GT. I have 1 gig of ram. It has a 800FSB and memory runs at 533mhz. This computer is several years old already but much better than the one I'm typing on and play on right now.

Let us know. Take it easy.

I am using Windows XP Pro 32 bit on a MSI K9NBPM2-FID AM2 NVIDIA Quadro NVS 210S Micro ATX AMD Motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor 3.2GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor, so far on memory I have G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory (I am getting two more GB of the same memory today once UPS delivers and my video card is MSI RX2600XT-T2D512EZ Radeon HD 2600XT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Silent Heat Pipe Video Card.. It is my first PCIe as well. Sorry for the long descriptions, I just copy and paste, I am lazy so far today.

I did download the 2006 version, big download about 500+ mb. I ran it, it to have some nice graphics. It stated that I was on the lower side of the comparisons. My score was only 4911. Oh well, my system is working right now, so I should not nor will I complain. The 2006 must be a tougher test. Anyways, all is well as long as everything works. :)
